We began the new academic year with the second-year students. Prayer service was conducted by them. We asked for God’s blessings so that the year ahead goes well for all of us. It was a great start to the new academic year.
St. Teresa’s Institute of Education was established by the Carmelite sisters hence the feast was celebrated by the Teresian family. In honor of our Lady of Mount Carmel a short online prayer service was conducted by the students of the second year. Online SCAPULAR/COLLAGE MAKING competitions were held for the Students. They took active part in it.
We celebrated the Feast of Saint Joaquim and Anne also known as Parents’ Day. Mrs. Lalita Pereira organized an online competition for our second-year students. Themed Parents’ Day CARD MAKING COMPETITION. This gave them a chance to showcase their creativity.
A thanksgiving farewell prayer service was prepared for our dear principal Sr. Delicia Fernandes. Students put up a beautiful programme as a mark of gratitude. Memories flashed our minds of the two years that we spent with sister. She was a great role model for all of us.
At the end sister spoke few words of wisdom and thanked all of us.
We welcomed our new principal with a wonderful prayer service. Mrs. Kanchan Naidu introduced the new principal Sr. Saroja to all of us. We hope to be enriched by her experience and guidance for all of us. We wish her good luck!!!
The Feast of Our Lady of Assumption along with Independence Day was celebrated differently this year. We had prayer service. Competitions were held like patriotic singing and fancy-dress. Students gave in their best. It was indeed a great day for the college, for the love of our lady as well as for the country’s freedom. After the prayer service the winners of all the competition were announced and the certificates were sent to students.
Miss Cinera D’mello was in charge of this competition. Students were given an hour for making Rakhi. All of them were excellent and creative in their own way.
All our students came together under the guidance of our dear principal Sr. Saroja and organized this event online. The celebration commenced with a prayer service followed by prayer dance performed gracefully. Games were arranged like Pictionary and guess the movie with the help of emoji for the teachers. There was dance performance as well. Students made this day very special for each one of us.
We celebrated the Birthday of Mother Mary and also celebrated Girl Child Day. Miss Cinera D'mello guided the students for an online celebration for our students. The celebration began with a beautiful prayer service followed by some prayer dance and skit representing life of Mother Mary. Later, also a karaoke was presented wherein the students were asked to guess the hymns. It was definitely a blessed and a spiritual day.
Mrs. Lalita Pereira took charge of this celebration. Under her guidance second year students put up a wonderful prayer service and the importance of the day as to why it is celebrated. There was also handwriting competition organized for the students.
We welcomed our new batch of F.Y.D.El. Ed students. This was done virtually using a Google Classroom App. The prayer service was a solemn affair with prayers and hymns. S.Y.D.El. Ed students organized a game for the freshers. The management, teaching and non-teaching staff were introduced to them along with an orientation for the subjects that they would have to study in this new academic year. The new batch of students were very much excited.
To pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti we had cleanliness day video making competition. Students went around to different areas of their vicinity and cleaned the surrounding. This brought about an awareness to keep the place clean and not to litter.
Teaching aids workshop was arranged for our first-year students so that they get creative ideas to prepare educational aids before they commence with their micro skills. The workshop was conducted by our ex-student Mrs. Malaika Rodrigues teacher at St. Stanislaus.
Day well started by invoking God’s presence by our Staff to mark the occasion of the feast of our college Patroness St. Teresa of Avila. Our students performed singing & prayer dance. Video was shown depicting the life story of our Patroness.
Talent Hunt was organized for the first-year students, who showed their talent in a very creative way. Sr. Thresia Valsa and Mrs. Shakuntala were judges for the day. Some took part in singing, dance while others in art work. We had a great time seeing the new batch perform so well. It was indeed a great opportunity for the students as they got a platform to show their talent.
All our students as well as teachers came together online to bid farewell to our S Y 2019-21 batch. FY students and Mrs. Arpana Cerejo were in-charge of this event. The celebration began with invoking the blessings of the almighty followed by prayer dance. Thereafter a short entertainment programme was organized by the F Y students. Also a beautiful video of passing light of the candle was displayed at the end, depicting every student as a light of knowledge. It was indeed a day with mixed emotions.
This wonderful 'Celebration of Lights' was celebrated under the guidance of Mrs. Lalita Pereira. The celebration began with a beautiful and peaceful prayer service followed by a wonderful prayer dance. On this occasion, there were many competitions held like - Rangoli, Lantern making, Diya decorating etc. All the students enthusiastically participated in the competitions. The competition were judged by Mrs. Kanchan Naidu and Mrs. Nirmala Brass. This celebration definitely brought joy and smiles on every face even though it was celebrated online.
